Card Grading
A proper inspection by a not-at-all-proper gremlin. Any trading card game is welcome: Magic, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Lorcana, One Piece, sports cards, and that weird promo you've never seen anyone else own.
What you get
A Gremlin Grade
A score from 1 to 10, each with its own title. Ten is Hoard-Worthy. One is Gremlin Snack.
Four subgrades
Shine, Sniff Test, Corner Crunch and Vibes, each scored out of 10. Science has never been less rigorous.
The Gremlin's notes
A few words from the Gremlin on exactly what it thinks of your card. It has opinions.
A Gremlin label
Your card comes home protected, with a Gremlin label showing its grade, serial number and a QR code.
A registry page
Every card gets a private code and its own page with photos and its full report, ready to show off.
Price
£8 per card
Turnaround is about two weeks from when your cards arrive.
How to send your cards
-
Book your grading
Email us with how many cards you'd like graded. We'll reply with the total and the address to post them to. Online booking and payment are coming soon.
-
Sleeve and protect each card
Put each card in a penny sleeve, then into a toploader. Pop a bit of tape over the top of the toploader so the card can't slide out.
-
Sandwich them
Put the toploaders between two pieces of stiff cardboard and secure them with an elastic band or tape. No loose cards, please. The Gremlin gets excited.
-
Include a note
Add a slip with your name, email address and a list of the cards inside.
-
Post it tracked
Use a padded envelope or small box and send it with tracking (Royal Mail Tracked or Special Delivery for valuable cards). We'll email you when it arrives.
-
Look it up
Once graded, your cards come back with tracking and each one gets a registry code. You can look them up here.
Questions
Is this a real grade?
Nope! Gremlin Grades are a bit of fun. They aren't a professional grade, authentication or valuation, and they won't be recognised by grading companies or marketplaces. They're a great excuse to show off a favourite card, though.
Will you open or damage my card?
Your card is handled carefully, in sleeves, by a human with clean hands. The Gremlin's nibbling is strictly theoretical.
Can I send cards that are already in a slab?
Raw cards only, please. We can't grade a card through someone else's case.
Who can see my card's registry page?
Only people who have its code. The registry isn't searchable or listed anywhere, so it's up to you who you share it with. We never show your name on the page.
How long does it take?
Usually about two weeks from when your cards arrive, plus postage each way.
